Film Critic Roger Ebert Passes Away

Roger Ebert, the influential film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times, died today following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Roger Ebert, the Pulitzer Prize-winning critic who taught generations of writers and audiences how to talk about film, passed away today, his longtime employer the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He was 70.

Even through his fight with cancer Ebert remained optimistic, discussing in plans for a new online venture called Ebert Digital, which he would run with his wife Chaz Ebert and longtime friend Josh Golden, as well as the 15th annual Ebertfest at his alma mater the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign. And, of course, reviewing films.
