Hitman: Agent 47 is the second feature film based on the popular video game series. The first film, which opened in 2007 starred
Timothy Olyphant and
Dougray Scott. It made $100M at the worldwide box office against a meager $24M budget. The new film, is being directed by Aleksander Bach and written by Michael Finch, Kyle Ward and
Skip Woods. It stars
Rupert Friend,
Zachary Quinto,
Hannah Ware and
Thomas Kretschmann. Of note: Friend replaced Paul Walker in lead after the
Fast & Furious actor died in a car accident.
"The story is focused a young woman named Katia van Dees who teams up with Agent 47 in order to find her father and her true ancestry. They both discover that Katia is a genetically engineered assassin just like 47. Together, they fight the Syndicate to find Katia's father."
