Marvels plan to bring two major characters to the box office may have caused them to slow down a bit. With the Thor movie coming out in May



All of the national and internet attention has been and still is driven to Captain America The First Avenger! Everything from the Super Bowl tv spots to the constant out pour for Caps movie trailer may have the company say "one at a time people, First things first". After all Marvel has spent alot of money on both projects, to have one just totally out shine the other. I believe they are counting on both movies success. The closer we get to the release of Thor the less we will see of The First Avenger. But Marvel is not dumb at all, they know what the people have been calling for. They know what we want. I'm willing to bet as soon as Thor comes out in theaters they will launch a Captain America attack comic book movie fans have never seen before! It only makes sense to let Thor shine give us bits and pieces of The First Avenger until Thor is out and doing well. A full Captain America Trailer right now would only hurt their efforts to successfully market both movies. To be honest the attention is not even close. Countless web polls have proven that. Captain America The First Avenger is Marvel comics ace in the hole.


Even if Thor is the opening act and Captain America is the main event for the companies 2011 movie releases Thor still deserves his time in the spotlight!

Nice info but I wouldn't say its stealin Thors thunder. Thor has way more advertising and pics. We really need more for Cap. I was really expecting a trailer by now.

@MM I agree we need more pictures for cap but this is why they are doing it because they are trying to force thor on you. They know we wanna see cap!

Don't make excuses for Marvel. We want the trailer for Cap now, if this were DC, I think your article would have been a lot less forgiving.

Like Warner Bros, with GL, Marvel has to get the ball rolling with Captain America.

@X and @ ITFT first of all a movie trailer is to make fans wanna go see the movie. The whole world can't wait for this captain america movie to come out! Marvel knows that! So why rush the trailer? I think the first time we recieve the captain america trailer will be on the thor movie. Marvel has us right where they want us!

Both Will be awesome. Captain America has my money though, and in my opinion has a more interesting character.

@Intruder Yes Thor had a tv spot too! but not even a hour later all people talked about was Captain America! @Aguaman if you had 2 things for sale and people was going nuts over the one! you wouldn't worry about how to sell that one ! you would try to sell the other one too!!

@intruder what you say is right!! but you have to see how Cap steals the show everytime!! you see the polls you and I know what the people want! marvel knows too. they have the internet they view the web! Thor will be great but fans want Cap now!! EVEN WITH THOR ABOUT TO COME OUT! IF THEY GET CAPS TRAILER TONIGHT! THEY WOULD WANT THE MOVIE BY TOMORROW! TELL ME THAT DOESN'T STEAL THOR'S SHINE! AT ALL!!

i still think cap has plenty of time once thor comes out n makes a butt load they will switch to cap..i mean they got 2 months to push cap AFTER thor comes out they know their product is good and so they dont have to worry. a picture here an interview there till after may and its everything is good. i know who cap's fighting and i know who thor is fighting, but i have no idea what GL is goin up against. i just don't like how WB is goin on with GL it seems like they need to do some study groups or something.

Hahaha that's funny, you think Thor is being robbed from the spotlight, you couldn't be far from it.

IMO!!! Captain America looks like crap. I'm not wasting my time/money on johnny storm fighting the guy's from G.I. Joe.

Fact...Captain America will bomb at the box office.

Yes @tehdude IN MY OPINION Captain will be the worst CBM of 2011. GL and Thor will own, even X-men will be better.

Poor Marvel why would you schedule Captain America a week after the last Harry Potter movie, and a week before Cowboys and Aliens.

Just wondering how much money was that super bowl spot,what a waste.... tisk tisk

If we're going by trailers alone then I'd say Thor's beating the crud out of Captain America. Captain America has yet to "Wow" me, even after their trailer. In fact, their trailer was so "meh" for me that I'm worried the movie may suck.

I say this as a bigger fan of Captain America too (never cared for Thor in any universe).

I really do want Captain America to be the best flick this summer but I'm very nervous. What we have seen of Thor looks like a pure EPIC. Everything from the costumes to the dialogue get me really excited, but when it comes to Cap I really dislike the fact that the Red Skull picture looks WAAAAAAAAAY more interesting than Cap himself... I mean the costume design, well at least the helmet, I feel like it's got a corny feel to it.
And hear me out here, I LOVE cap. He's definitely on my top five favs list and I just want the world to love him too. I pray that when the trailer comes out the action sequences will make him look as hardcore as he should be.
As for GL, I know a lot of people are hating on the trailer but I think it's going to make tons of money at the box office. For one its Ryan Reynolds so people will flock to the theater to see him, and the concept art for it is truly mind blowing in my opinion, and I'm a marvel guy!
