Superman comic book and TV writer Jeph Loeb will adapt Will Eisner's The Spirit for the big screen.

Fan favorite scribe Jeph Loeb will help bring the late Will Eisner's Spirit character to theaters by penning the script, Variety says.

Odd Lot Entertainment and Batfilm Productions have started work on the movie based on Eisner's Golden Age character. Here's how the trade describes the plot: "Created by Eisner in 1940, the Spirit is a masked detective, believed dead, who fights the criminals of Central City from his cemetary base.
