I have not been a member of CBM.com for long, about a week or so. I have been coming to this site for years but just now started contributing. The other day I posted a story about “AKA Jessica Jones”. Shortly after the post went up, another member (one with a doctor who avatar) pointed out to me that “RorMachine" had already posted an article on the same subject around 7-9 hours earlier.
At first, I was thinking “this guys being a d!@k", but I checked it out and found it was true. Had I taken the time to scroll down, I would have seen the post. Not only was my article roughly the same, but also had the same source. Hell, I even had the same pics.

So, with my head hung in shame, I deleted my post. Since then, I try to look at all of the articles on the homepage before I post, to avoid this situation again. We all know that it feels pretty awesome to be the first to break a news story, to find that exclusive before anyone else. But before you hit that submit button, take a second to look at the current post. It may save you from bringing shame upon your house, like it did to mine.
