Killraven, the Marvel comic series that spun off from the War of the Worlds concept, may become a feature film from Sony, Variety reports.

"Set in a future where mankind has been enslaved by an alien race, storyline follows a man who, though born in captivity, rises through gladiatorial battles to become the leader of a group of revolutionaries. Called the Freemen, his warrior-slaves unite in an attempt to drive the invaders off the Earth," the trade says.
The character started off in Amazing Adventures and then got his own limited series recently.

Sony is in talks to sign Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan to do the screenplay.
