Agent 47 is a reboot of Hitman (which starred Justified’s Timothy Olyphant as the lead character and grossed over $100 million worldwide back in 2007). The movie is based on the hit video game franchise from Square Enix, and this take on the bald assassin was shot in a number of locations. It stars Rupert Friend (Homeland) in the title role and this movie will see him take on his first role in a big budget blockbuster. Of course, he’s no stranger to action thanks to his role in the Showtime drama and should have little trouble convincingly portraying the tough as nails anti-hero who’s best known for his ruthless killing methods and the barcode tattoo on the back of his head. Commercials director Aleksander Bach will still make his feature helming debut with the project from a screenplay written by A Good Day To Die Hard’s Skip Woods and Mike Finch as well as Machete Kills’ Kyle Ward. Also in the movie are Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware and Thomas Kretschmann.

Only one reason to see this movie: Zachary Quinto.

I'm a big fan of Hitman franchise but the first movie was meh,and again we don't have an actor that look like Agent 47,the only one is Jason Statham, damn take him!

The guy at least fits the character much better than Oliphant, let's just hope that they won't do the classic "video clip makeover" movies inspired by videogames get.

Guy has a big head!!! Seriously? Thats the complaint?
He looks like Hitman more than Oliphant and Walker(God Bless his Soul), Statham.

He is thin, thats why his head looks big.
Last Hitman game showed that he is indeed shaving his head (even though I found it not cool at the time when I saw it in the film).

We need the trailer to see him in action.

@soforizo That's true, man. 'cuz The heat and Collateral were directed by Mann and.... Rockstar that made Max Payne 3 (only the 3rd one) love Mann's films. They admitted that themselves.

His big ass dome isn't the problem, its the shitty movie before this. How did they manage another one?

I thought the first was excruciatingly long but just found out it was only an hour and a half long. WOW!

First Hitman was awful and looks like this will be even worse. Shame too see such a cool character wasted.

I didn't know there was enough demand for a Hitman film to warrant a second one. I really like Zachary Quinto though, so I hope it does well. Margin Call was an incredibly under rated movie that he was in, I suggest everyone go watch it.

Ugh. Hitman is all about stealth and making someone have an "unfortunate accident" when possible, so as to get the Silent Assassin rating. That first pic tells me he's anything but a silent assassin LOL.

I enjoyed the first or original movie with Timothy Olyphant. I always held out hope for a sequel. I saw Paul Walker was originally up for this part, so I guess they either wanted a clean start or Olyphan wasn't up for a retake.

I don't think that Jason Statham would be open to ever take on an lead role as hitman, though. He's always set on playing out characters in his action movies, displaying outstanding, even over the top like degrees of planning behind each and every action, are gifted with a level of professionalism on the outer edge of the humanly possible or featuring another ability he's gifted with, elevating the character above the normal human being and into a variant I'd call "supreme alpha dog". I'm betting on hidden self esteem issues, where his need for compensating it instead of working through his issues with the help of a professional being responsible for the coherent similarities of charakter qualities he's willing to earn his money as an actor with.

(Though I only know him from screen, so am in lack of even just the tiniest, singular opportunity providing a different viewpoint on Statham as a person, thus allowing me to verify, dismiss or elaborate on my deductions in any way. So better take any viewpoints or theories I've shared above with, like, an mount everest of salt... ;) )
