We usually confine out trailer battle polls to the big Super-hero releases but we will make an exception for the first glimpse at Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, a movie some felt would never see the light of day after being plagued by misfortune. The first trailer was a bit light on action, but more than made up for it with some foreboding Dwarf singing and a tease of some pretty intense things to come. It was also a great re-introduction to Middle Earth, definitely reminiscent of LOTR, and that is not a bad thing..
Then we have the first full trailer for Christopher Nolan's
The Dark Knight Rises, probably more anticipated among most CBMers. This gives us out first look (and listen) of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, a few cool shots of Tom Hardy as Bane, an emotional speech from Michael Caine as Alfred and more of that unsettling chanting. The only thing it was lacking a bit was Batman! With Christian Bale getting only one line as Bruce Wayne. This was also quite light on the action aside from a montage of shots at the end and that awesome Football field implosion..
We know that both directors have delivered the goods on their previous entries in these franchises.
TDKR being Nolan's final part in a trilogy and
The Hobbit Jackson's first installment of a two part prequel. Most fans aren't too worried about these movies but which trailer did the job of amping up excitement best? Vote away..
