Here's an excerpt from the article:

Red Voltage and two of his masked crime-fighting colleagues were approaching an intersection here in Utah’s capital on a recent evening, walking night patrol on foot, when a car suddenly slowed next to them. The night was bitterly cold, laced with a wispy stew of fog that might or might not conceal a thousand dangers. The car’s window rolled down.

“Hi, superheroes!” a woman shouted from within. “I’m in love with you guys!”

Eat your heart out, Batman. In a niche of urban life that has evolved in recent years somewhere between comic-book fantasy and the Boy Scout oath, a cadre of self-cast crusaders — some with capes, some without, all with something to prove — are on the march.

Because if there's any city that needs a superhero.... it's Salt Lake City....

These guys just seem like a bunch of bowling buddies who've watched the Crow one too many times.

Batman is probably the only super hero that is possible to become, well at least the Nolan kind.

this is upsetting, if your gonna fight crime dont plaster yourself all over the internet and magazines. You die a lot faster that way. Then again when you do stuff like this your life expectancy shoots to like 25% or something....was never good at math lol

There's no crime in Salt lake City?! The Mormons have dominion over Utah, so OF COARSE it's SAFE to play Super Hero THERE!

I'd like to see these Dudes try and fight crime here in my home town: Stockton California! We've had nearly 60 Homicides this Year! The Police havefled to serve in other cities, and the few we have won't come to your house unless there's been a murder or police related shooting!

I'm getting the hell outta Dodge in a few months, I can't have my teenage son and daughter starting High School here; too many damn gangbanger thugs!

Where's The PUNISHER when you need him? :(

Oh gawd! These people are numb-nuts. On one hand, I commend them for wanting to do something positive for their communities, on the hand, they are on the road to getting their asses handed to them....if not killed. The best super heroes are the ones who don't just stand there and watch crime take place, but rather get involved by acknowledging a crime has been committed by being a good witness and reporting the crime. Who the f*** is gonna take these idiots seriously for wearing non-practical costumes that limit their mobility and/ or visibility.

ManOfKrypton
ManOfKrypton - 12/26/2011, 2:13 PM
They went on patrol for 30mins.... Geez that was long, I was expecting an all night shift! lol.... And these guys are really putting themselves at risk, they look like your average joes that know nothing about self defence and have never visited a gym in their life. You only need to get one lunatic that knows how to handle themselves in a fist fight and they'll get a good beating!

If only some UFC fighters were doing this, then you got something to be scared of.

However I do commend them for actually going out and trying to do something positive, but can you really take them seriously? I know I wouldn't.

@luv1138 - LOL that's easy, I wanna see some hero dare to patrol São Paulo. The bad parts. That would require REAL superpowers / gadgets.
Doctorwho22
Doctorwho22 - 12/26/2011, 2:16 PM
@ManOfKrypton if serious is what they want then ditch the uber get ups, do something that will cover you face and wear something that wont impede your movements. It looks like they are just cosplayers

The only super hero that could survive long enough to make a difference is The Punisher. Everybody else would be dead as soon as they ran into a real threat

Believe it or not...SLC DOES have crime. Of course it's not as bad as LA or NY, but those cities are way bigger.

I just hope no one discoveries my secret identity.
