Supernatural Season 7 Looking Promising, Plus Season Finale Info

Another season of Supernatural is looking promising, plus a bit of information regarding this season's finale episodes, airing May 20th

Minor spoilers ahead. Do not read any further if you don't like spoilers!

Last year, at about this same time, Supernatural fans were on pins and needles waiting to hear if a season 6 was to happen or not. The original plan for the series was to be a 5 season story, which was wrapped up last year, with the Winchester Brothers halting the oncoming apocalypse. Obviously, we now know that season six was picked up, and that 22 episode story will be wrapped up on May 20th, with the final two episodes. Executive Producer Robert Singer sat down with Zap2It to discuss the last few episodes of the season and had this to say about the Winchester's relationship:

"It's always been our plan that we'd rip them asunder in the first half of the year, mend that relationship, and then have it grow over the remainder of the season. That's really what we've done."

As far as the plot goes, the road doesn't look so peachy for the two brothers, as one of them has some "things" headed his way:

"There are some big obstacles that one of them has to overcome as we get nearer to the end," he says. He also confirms that Lisa and Ben, Dean's pseudo family from his year without Sam, will return in a very 'interesting, high-stakes' way."

END OF SPOILERS

For those concerned as to whether or not the show will be picked up for a 7th season, I bring you good news!

"We're feeling confident [about Season 7]. Everybody tells us to feel confident. Whereas last year was the end of a five-year story, this year we told a 22 episode story that has a beginning, middle, and end to it," Singer says. "We've accomplished that. Having said that, we do have a cliffhanger at the end of 22, and that's sort of based on the fact that everybody assures us we're going to get picked up."

I don't know about you, but this makes me happy. Supernatural is one of the few shows out there that has been consistently entertaining to watch and kept me interested. Not to say it hasn't had it's faults, but compared to other CW shows, this one I'm OK with seeing another season.

Maybe it is a budget thing but really the show seems to be losing some imagination the demons the Gods the Angels everything really seems scaled down.

And this last season feels kind of weak after escaping the Devil last season (who was pushed in a hole in the ground) it's hard to live up to that again.

It's a show about fighting monsters and demons it should feel like it has no limits not like as grounded as it has been.

Yeah, @AlReg, I feel ya. I think they could've done so much more this season with the angel civil war story, but who knows? The seasons not over yet!

I love this show, but I wish they'd let us know whether or not Chuck was God, it's killing me, we need to see Chuck again! Also Jeffrey Dean Morgan needs to come back as John Winchester, maybe escaping purgatory like he did hell.

Supernatural has always kicked ass. It's hilarious that Herc over at Aint It Not News reviled this show so much whereas he worshiped Buffy & Angel. Of course with Whedon doing Avengers now, I won't say anything but praise for the man, but Herc's estrogen kowtowing did sour me a bit as to Whedon. Now, I've separated the man from his followers but I sure do hope that Whedon's fondness for his own cuteness does not get included in the Avengers in any way.

This is the first time ive ever joined a fan site but I was so afraid when I finished watching SUPERNATURAL tonight and heard that the Finale was on the 05-20-2011 it didnt say season finale it just said finale, this is the first show since the X-Files that I have to watch every week and dont know what I would do if it ended but after reading some of these post it seems like it will come back for a 7th season, as for those who say it should have ended after the 5th season speak for your self, if you think that that should have been the end then just dont watch it anymore then it will be the end for you but as for the rest of us i hope SUPERNATURAL will never end!!
