Tamara Drewe Movie On The Way

Tamara Drewe Movie On The Way

Who?? Stephen Frears is directing the movie adaptation Posy Simmonds serialized graphic novel (itself based on Thomas Hardy’s "Far From The Madding Crowd").

The movie will star Gemma Arterton ("Lost In Austen," "Quantum Of Solace") in the lead, alongside Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia, History Boys) and Tamsin Grieg ("Black Books," "Love Soup," "Green Wing," "Neverwhere") as a teenager tries to reinvent herself. physically and culturally, to join a society she yearns for, amidst the influence of a literary countryside retreat.

Sounds a bit Bridget Jones for my liking. But Stephen Frears is a pretty good director. Anyone who has seen the underrated "Dirty Pretty Things" or "The Queen" will know he has a nice style. And seeing Gemma Arterton in that outfit would always have to be worth a look:)

Just because a comic or graphic novel exists doesnt mean it has to become a movie.

How dreary. How the hell do these movies get funding? This is about dullard execs thinking they're making movies for the thinking man/woman. Screw the thinking man, he doesn't go to the cinema.
