The Future of the Marvel TV Universe

We all know Marvel is pushing the TV universe, what else should can we see in the future?

(apologies for no Pictures, there is an error of some kind were the option to use them doesn't show up)

With the newest announcement of the Netflix TV shows that Marvel is producing (Iron Fist, Luke Cage, AKA Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Defenders) It appears marvel is moving more and more toward producing vigilantes on the TV universe, and not the big screen. Now this of course is awesome! Seeing more characters is always great, it is of course a tad sad not to see them get their own films. But hey with the amount of movies out there, there just won’t be a lot of time to fit these guys in anyway. Well now with the statement that they are trying to make another ABC show, and probably make more series on Netflix eventually. It’s time to take a look at a few more characters that we may be seeing on the TV screen sooner or later.

Mockingbird and Spider-Women

These two probably won’t be getting their own show. But the reason I’ve showed them is because of Agents of Shield. With the show’s success (Not a massive one, but a decent amount so far) I have a feeling we will see some superheroes show up very soon. So why not Mockingbird? Alongside Black Widow probably the most pure Agent of Shield of any hero. Mockingbird is a solid character that would add a tad more of that hand to hand action that Agents of Shield is trying to convey. Spider-women would add that super power factor into the show. She would be their go to girl to take down a lot of super powered villains.

Drawbacks: Mockingbird and Spider-women will steal the show and make other characters useless. These characters may be used later in movies.

US Agent

This is an interesting one, but US Agent is someone that could work for America, not necessarily SHIELD. He could be that little boost that America has for their own superhero. Thinking about it, he could work with a Navy Seals team to take down terrorist threats. He would be a pretty interesting twist on the Superhero Genre being it America fighting, not just hero VS villain or earth VS aliens.

Drawbacks: No tie to UK or other countries outside of America. People could see him as captain America 2.0

Blade and M.I. 13

We already had a blade TV show attempt a few years back, that was horrible. But don’t think because something has broken down once it can’t work again (the Batman franchise) Blade could add in a lot of the supernatural factor of the universe. Night stalkers especially. Now another thing we could have from Blade is M.I. 13. The Britain special ops force for weird happenings. Helmed by Blade and Captain Britain. Seeing the special Ops force take on the supernatural world would be excellent. As well as a possible opening for Ghost rider.

Drawbacks: Vampires in the superhero universe? M.I. 13 would have the draw for the American public.

Moon Knight

Again a little bit of the supernatural again. Moon Knight could be a fantastic vigilante for a TV show. Also there would be great opening for a Moon Knight crossover series with Blade for more supernatural happenings, or with Daredevil for more realistic happenings. Either way Moon Knight has endless opportunities. Moon Knight would have to be dark which Marvel hasn’t done yet, but pulling off Moon Knight would be a chance at the best Comic Book TV show out there.

Drawbacks: Moon Knight talking with Egyptian Gods. Too dark for Marvel. To similar to Batman, and the Arrow TV show.

Heroes for Hire

Just because Luke Cage and Iron Fist are getting Netflix shows doesn’t mean they are automatically canceled from the ABC network or another channel. Heroes for Hire would be able to skip the origins stories for the 3 main characters because they are already getting solo shows. All they would need is to start fighting, also great chance to see black widow pop up for a few episodes since she is a hero for hire herself at times. Don’t put it past Marvel to reuse the characters on the Netflix shows here.

Punisher

One of the most obvious choices for a TV show is “HBO Punisher series”. The punisher is one of if not the darkest superhero in comics. He is ruthless, completely messed up in the head, and just wants to kill bad guys. Making a TV show true to the character would be darker than even The Dark Knight was. But he fits so well into a TV show that he is a very logical choice.

Drawbacks: The character is to dark, especially for marvel.

In closing just throwing some Ideas out for what else can go on the small screen for Marvel. I think its great that they are moving for more and more properties in the universe. Once all (well a lot of) the great properties are established in the universe, its just a matter of going in, grabbing the characters, and making movies. No origins needed. Hopefully that’s what all these series can lead to.
