Well, here's an interesting rumor for you. As you can see below, Mark Millar has revealed via Twitter that the director of the big screen adaptation of Kick-Ass (and more recently X-Men: First Class for Fox) will helm another of the Scottish writers creations. With Tony Scott attached to Nemesis and Nacho Vigalondo set to helm Supercrooks, that only really leaves Kick-Ass 2, Superior or something altogether new!
What do you guys think about this? Which of Millar's creations would Matthew Vaughn be best suited to? Would you rather see him get on with making a sequel to
X-Men: First Class beforehand? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!
UPDATE: Mark Millar has taken to the "Millarworld" forums to set the record straight about a few things regarding Matthew Vaughn's involvement and his other planned projects.
I'm already seeing the usual "I'll believe it when I see it bullshit" and so just let the directors spill the beans now, staying nicely silent and pulling the strings as ever in the background. As you know, that Nemesis with Tony Scott, Supercrooks with Nacho Vigalondo and 2 secret projects with Matthew all being worked on as movies at the moment. I can't talk about Superior yet (it's the studios call as they're paying the dough) or Kick-Ass 2 (any vague HINT of what's happening seems to become a massive story), but some WAR HEROES movie news to break in the next couple of weeks. This was as big a surprise to me as it is to you, but I'm very, very happy about it.
An adaptation of War Heroes is in the works? Pretty fantastic news I'm sure you'll agree! Millar also points his readers towards the recent revelations that he and Vaughn are working together on espionage themed comic book and film (seemingly along with artist Dave Gibbons) but whether this is in fact the movie he'll direct remains to be seen.
