looks like Lego will be going Live Action in 2014, thanks to warner Bros. IGN.com has the story:

The studio behind the Harry Potter and Batman franchises is banking on Lego being their next big movie tentpole.

Variety reports that Warner Bros. has greenlit a hybrid live-action/animated feature film based on the building blocks.

Australian-based firm Animal Logic (Happy Feet, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole) will handle the animation for the film, which the trade says will be 80% animation and is slated for a 2014 release.

"Plot details for Lego -- an action-adventure set in the Lego world -- remain under wraps," according to Variety. "Casting for the live-action characters is set to begin in January."

More details are expected to be released at a press conference in Australia next week.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will write and direct the Lego movie, with Robot Chicken's Chris McKay co-directing.
