Warners Announces Suicide Squad Movie

Could we be seeing Captain Cold on the big screen before The Flash?

The Suicide Squad (or Task Force X) were a group of DC comics villains who were gathered together by Amanda Waller for some of her more "difficult" missions..in other words these guys were like the dirty dozen of the DC universe, it was never a sure thing to return from a mission in one piece.

Justin Marks, whose super-prison screenplay “Supermax” utilized wrongly accused DC icon Green Arrow as well as its own giant cast of established DC supervillainy, is scripting “Suicide Squad” for Warner Bros.

No definitive word on which supervillians will be utilized for the movie, but those serving on the squad in the comics include Batman enemies Penguin, Poison Ivy and Deadshot, Flash enemies Captain Boomerang and Captain Cold, Green Arrow enemy Count Vertigo, Atom enemy Chronos, Justice League enemy Doctor Light, and Superman enemy Parasite.

I think this could be a pretty cool movie..provided Warner Bros. give the filmmakers the go ahead to use DCs most prolific superbastards of course!

this could be an amazing movie
its something that hasnt really been touched on yet in comic book movies, besides Wanted in a way, is the villians taking center stage
i'm hoping for an R rating where its true to the source in the fact that these characters are some of DCU's most dangerous villians. they are willing to kill, maim and destroy to get the job done. ive never been a consistant reader of the series but i have thoroughly enjoyed every time the suicide squad has been part of stories I have read
Rorshach you mentioned Supermax, have you or anyone else heard anything recently about its development. i havent heard any news in quite some time.

It would be down right criminal that Captain Cold gets the big screen treatment before the god-damn Flash.

They should be working on The Flash movie. After Green Lantern arrives people will be like "Superman, who? I want Flash!"

the supermax concept sounds pretty sick, although i would prefer a more traditional green arrow movie first and THEN supermax, but im not too picky

also dont kno if it matters to me which comes out first. a flash movie would be great, been waiting for it since i picked up the live action TV show. if you havent seen it, its quite hilarious
mark hamil as the trickster, ah he is the greatest

but yeah if they pull off this movie i will be immensely pleased. what do you think the probability of that is tho?

I actually would like it to see a character development for a villain first, I think it would add a lot to the hero-villain relationship. I] mean if you already know he's a bastard and the hero doesn't know it yet, I think that would be great.

rorschac, for another darker anti hero movie, they should make a movie based on the real Wanted comic, not a change of the complete fricking series!!! even tho i did like the movie even if it wasnt true to story..... at all

Did anyone ever read this? Might as well make dark hawk the movie or starbrand... or psi-force
SirJediFrank
SirJediFrank - 2/28/2009, 7:00 AM
yeah i think it would probably work better for an animated cartoon series, or animated dvd movie.. kind of the opposite to JLU, that would be cool.

--- seriously i don´t really think we get to see this one in the big screen, UNLESS they do get right a MAYOR DCU crossover, like the one Shaman talked about a while ago.

Supermax is even in pre production yet. Justin Marks is the worst writer ever. Look how well the new street fighter did... It opened @ #8 because no one knows that its out. Not to mention the awful casting job.

This movie will never be made and if it is before a flash movie, [frick] DC.
