When Cinema Blend spoke to Roland Emmerich, they asked whether or not we’d get a trailer for Independence Day Resurgence by the end of the year. Emmerich responded, and revealed that we’ll most likely receive a trailer this December! “It will probably be happening around the Christmas season." Well, there you have it! You can expect the first trailer for Independence Day Resurgence during the final weeks of the year!

While some were disappointed that the trailer didn't drop on July 4th - the rumored date- you can now happily make a note on your calendars, marking this trailer's projected release date. Also, even though Will Smith won’t reprise his role in the sequel film, I’m sure you’ll find many, many other reasons to tune in! For example, check out the film’s awesome title reveal below!

Looking forward to this.

One thing I liked about the original was that it was current human weapons against an alien force. This one looks like humans will be using futuristic and fictional weapons which i'm not very fond of.

Yeah I totally understand that but I would've preferred current human weapons, especially with the advances in CGI. It would've looked pretty spectacular.

Nevertheless, still pretty excited.
