Will Paul Greengrass Take THE STAND For Warner Bros.?
From Captain Philips to Captain Tripps? Sources report that the Bourne director is the studio's top choice to helm their adaptation of Stephen King's mammoth novel now that Scott Cooper is out of the picture. Read on for more details.
Warner Bros. seem determined to get their big-screen adaptation of The Stand into production despite quite a troubled start. Scott Cooper was the latest director to leave the project, and now Badass Digest reckon Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy/ United 93) is at the "top of their wishlist" to take the reigns. The site don't know if there's been any formal discussions, just that he's the man they want for the job. If so, he's certainly an interesting choice. An accomplished action director, Greengrass has yet to venture into any kind of supernatural or fantasy territory, and The Stand has those elements in spades. Anyway, this is just a rumor for now, we'll update if anything more solid leaks out.
