THE EXPENDABLES And RED Possibly Coming To A Television Near You

Lionsgate is reportedly considering adapting several movies into television series and among those possibilities are The Expendables and Red. Which one would work best for television?

Lionsgate is currently contemplating adapting some of their successful movie franchises into tv series and that apparently includes two ensemble action flicks, The Expendables and Red, the later of which was based on DC's limited comic book series from Warren Ellis. Details are still scarce at the moment but which show would you prefer to see? It's doubtful Lionsgate would be able to secure the entire cast of either film for a television series, I'd say that the studio would most likely attempt spinoff shows with one or more of the secondary characters. Maybe Karl Urban and Mary Lou-Parker for Red or perhaps Terry Crews and Chuck Norris for an Expendables show? Of course this is just speculation for now but we'll keep you up to date with more details as this develops.

Doubt a TV Version would have so many stars as the movies

Both were fun movies. Neither would make good television shows.

By the way, has anybody else seen the really, really creepy IPhone commercial starring John Malkovich.

I think Expendables would be entertaining, but it wouldn't last very long.
Red would last longer and keep people interested.

Expendables only worked because of the headlining stars in it. So unless they cast a bunch of has-been action TV stars (David hasselhoff, John Schnieder, Mr T, etc.) I do not seeing it working.

Red would be a better adaption becasue the story is strong enough to not need big names attached to it.

I don't think the shows would hack it without the stars that make them worthy on the big screen. Well..Red was worthy of the big screen. Not really sure about the Expendables. :-P

Same here, but there's one thing I dislike more than either and that is Lebron James. I will root for the Spurs if it comes down to them and Miami.

I want a Spurs vs Boston finals because they both got great players that are coming to an end of their career. But there's no way Boston beats Miami. I'm still pissed at the bad luck my Bulls got.

I don't know about these these movies being adapted as TV shows...

If I really had to choose between the two, I think The Expendables would translate much better to the small screen than RED.

The Expendables TV show would be like a more modern, grittier A-Team.

sounds like a bad idea for both to made into shows,If Expendables was a Tv Show,I think only chuck Norris and Dolph Lundgren would be the only stars that would return for the show!lol!
