Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One probably won't go down as the director's best work, but it was still an impressive technical accomplishment.

Based on Ernest Cline's sci-fi novel, Spielberg was tasked with bringing to life the OASIS; a virtual reality world filled with geeky nostalgic references where much of the story takes place. In an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip provided by Collider, it's revealed that roughly 60 percent of the movie takes place within the CGI-crafted OASIS. So how did Spielberg and his crew bring this universe to life?

The video below gives us an inside look at the process used to film the scenes set within the OASIS. From the actual motion-capture studio to the technology used, the featurette provides some fascinating details of how Ready Player One was shot.

Ready Player One is available on Digital HD and will be released on 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on July 24. The release will come packaged with over 90 minutes of exclusive special features and extended clips that provide more behind-the-scenes details like in the above video.
