Following their latest cover reveal, Empire has debuted a new still from Star Wars: The Last Jedi featuring Finn (John Boyega) and Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) engaging in a bit of a stare-down in the casino city of Canto Blight.

In addition, we have a new image of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, and arguably our best look yet at Supreme Leader Snoke courtesy of a new Topps trading card.

Snoke's character design has proven to be divisive, but hopefully there's a satisfying reason behind his head looking like a piece of stepped-on chewing gun.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters in December.

Snoke is arguably becoming the biggest MacGuffin in movie history. Who is he? What is he? Where is he?

@TheCantilope - That's not what a MacGuffin is.

@malsemarcel - I think they're fibbing, I think he'll be someone we know or be a puppet of someone we know. I really can't imagine they'd just create an emperor 2.0.

@connorblaze -

Likely that he's a distraction and Luke Skywalker will be the villain of Episode 9.

@connorblaze - You mean just like they created a death star 3.0 and a tatooine 2.0?

@malsemarcel - We never did SEE the Emperor's body after he fell down that shaft in ROTJ.
We know that force strong individuals, especially masters, can fall long distances and control their descent....Anakin did it when he jumped out of the speeder car in AOTC.

So The Emperor could have fallen down that shaft after being thrown by Vader, or the essence of Papatine that flew out of his body after the drop could have occupied some other vessel of someone who was killed.

Or it could just be Darth Plagueis ......of it could just be some guy.

@JasonLives - doubt that it'll be palpatine. Plagueis is way more likely. Especially because he saw the empire rise and fall. And his disfigured face might be a result of sidious' murder attempt
