The phone number thing is kinda cute and seems like a throwback to the pre-internet days.

Other than that, I have no interest in this series anymore. Just like Aliens, I pretend the franchise ended after the second one.

This movie was so awesome, can’t wait to see it again.

Saw it las night. My big problem with it is that the opening scene is incredible. I know it’s already pissed off people who know about it and will likely piss off most people who go to see it. I won’t say what it is, and I get why it would piss people off (if you hated what they did with Luke in Last Jedi, your head will explode when you see this), but I loved it. When that happened, I was like “Alright. The safety net’s gone, we’re in new territory, this can be different from the other ones, they’re not confined to the formula anymore: let’s do this. What have you got, movie?”

And then they proceeded to give me the exact same movie I’ve seen five times already that I was already tired of by the fire time they did it. This is in addition to other problems like uneven pacing, an uninteresting main character, inconsistent effects, and some really awful dialogue.

Overall: 5/10.

@MUTO123 -

I'm one of those Terminator fans who hated what they did at the beginning, took away some of the enjoyment for me. I understood how Star Wars fans felt after that.
Think their biggest mistake was again doing a chase movie, really wish they had done the definitive Future War Terminator film, my main positives were seeing Linda return as Sarah Connor and I enjoyed Arnold in it as well.

I didn't completely hate it but I didn't love it, but did Enjoy the Future Scenes.

Oh Well, at least I have the Upcoming Terminator Game to look forward to...............!!!

@SimplyAz - Arnold doesn’t come on until right before the beginning of the third act, and his storyline has more emotional impact than anything involving the characters we spend most of the movie with.

The opening/first half of this was actually enjoyable I had hope for a short while but it slumped, its a shame where this franchise has ended up

I read the plot to this and it pissed me off lol not a fan. Someone made a really good argument as to why this doesn't necessarily work as a franchise. It was a good movie with an even better sequel. It doesn't have to have a universe and every attempt at squeezing more out of it has watered down the brand imo. Idk if I'll ever see this one, just not for me.

I read the plot and....just wow. Seems to me that this movie COMPLETELY takes everything good about T1 & T2 and makes you feel like this franchise may indeed be obsolete now.

How did they get an entire writers room on this and everyone thought this story and the choices made were a good idea?

@BlackBeltJones -

I've always watched T1 and T2 as their own complete movie with a complete ending.

Watched the subsequent, sequels/reboots/franchise Starters as Elseworld expensive fanfiction

@SimplyAz - yea I can't possibly see anything post T2 as anything other than fan fiction or, if you want to be somewhat kind, legends stories.

@BlackBeltJones -It blows me away how Tim Miller was talking about this movie leading up to it. After reading how it treats the lore of the first two I really don't understand some of the things he said. I get you have to hype up your own work but jeez.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 11/1/2019, 10:21 AM
@SpideyPuffsMJ - yea he must’ve gotten a nice check then to spew all that bs.

And getting Goyer to pen the script didn’t do them any favors either. I think the biggest crime these films post T2 keep committing may be the lack of challenging and inventive creatives steering the wheel. It’s the same shit every time and the people they bring on don’t want to do anything remotely new or just INTERESTING. And yet they say they’re reinventing the wheel or doing something that’s going to blow everyone’s mind and feel like they’re watching the original films again blah blah.

@BlackBeltJones - but you haven’t seen the movie? And you’re slamming it? If I were you, I would go borrow ten bucks from your mom and go check it out.

@CaptainMexico - I read enough.

Maybe I’ll eventually see it once it’s on streaming. My mom could use that 10 bucks anyway.

CaptainMexico - 11/1/2019, 10:42 AM
@BlackBeltJones - you read a synopsis for the movie? Man, this movie needs to be seen in a theatre, the action sequences are off the hook. I was raised on the first 2 terminator movies, this one had me feeling like a kid again. Something none of the previous sequels have done.

Linda Hamilton was the only thing between this and being as bad as Genisys.

So just like genesis this shits all over established canon . It’s terminator : girl power

Let’s not put the complete blame on Miller. Cameron had his hands all over this. His story, his concept and apparently a mix of his and Miller’s visions because he was very hands on during post production.
