10 CLOVERFIELD LANE Review

The spiritual successor to Cloverfield was kept such a closely guarded secret that the first we'd heard of it was a little under two months ago. With the film already upon us many are sceptical about it matching the success of it's predecessor, but they shouldn't be...

Pretty good movie. Don't go in expecting to get a direct sequel to Cloverfield. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Serious question. How "kid-friendly" is the film? My kids are 11 and 8. I'm pretty liberal with what I let them watch, as long as there aren't heavy sexual elements. Bad language and violence I can explain, but sex is NOT convo I want to get started with them.....yet. Any insight here would be great, we want to see it.

@RaisedFisT - see the movie first

@RaisedFisT - It's not necessarily gory or violent per se, but it's really scary. I as an adult was pretty terrified through it. Plus a lot of really loud noises. Probably see the movie before you take them as I'm not sure the level they're at

@RaisedFisT - there's no sex or sexualization at all. It's more of a psychological thriller, I think? You might wanna explain to your kids the third act though because they simply might not understand (It's not that clear what happens tbh).

There's one F bomb and that's it.

@Doom303 - Thank you. They've seen their fair share of scary films. Most recently we watched "The Boy" in the theater. They've also seen the Insidious films, It and Poltergeist (80s) among others.

@thomashilfiger - Thanks for the reply. My kids enjoyed the first Cloverfield and my daughter in particular likes scary / sci-fi films and the trailer really got her attention. So hopefully they'll enjoy this one.

I'm actually hearing and reading nothing but stellar reviews for this movie, especially about Goodman's performance...definitely gotta check it out.
