"Star Wars Rebels" continues the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. The clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. Executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman. The series premiered on October 3rd as a one-hour special telecast - "Spark of Rebellion" - and you can read my review of that episode by clicking right here.

Watched the first episode with my younger brother the other day, man that was terrible. Clone Wars was pretty bad but Rebels was nearly unwatchable. I realize its for kids but at least attempt to tell an interesting story. Instead we got a crappy rehash of A New Hope with bland characters, lame villains, and rather poor looking animation.

George Lucas is a SELL OUT, just like this guy:

Disney doesn't care about you, George! The corrupt company is just using you for there #DisneyWorldDomination plan to take action. Your LucasArts is just a PAWN into their schemes, divided attention with Marvel for cash... nothing more. They don't care about the fans. They don't care about YOU!!! All Disney cares about is building a monopoly. And just like Seth Rollins, you'll be trapped inside hell with a lunatic fringe. But this lunatic fringe isn't Dean Ambrose, its us muckrakers who will expose Disney's corrupt business ways just like Ida Tarbell exposed John D Rockeller and Standard Oil for their crooked schemes in route to a monopoly. When you make a deal with the Devil, George, you crash to hell!!!

@legopieface

That's what they want you to think. Just take a look at this quote from the lyrics to 'How Bad Can I Be?" from The Lorax:

How ba-a-a-ad can I be?

(a portion of proceeds goes to charity),

Rebels is pretty good so far, but unless there is some other big tie in its a missed opportunity to set a show in the 30 years between 6 and 7

What's this 5-minute episode bullshit they're wheeling out in the U.K?.

Full TV movie, then episode 2 was 30 mins, 3 and 4 are just 5 min jobs. They run out of material already? (lol)

@Soforizo: I agree 100%. Rebels is pure ass. Doesn't even feel like Star Wars to me. More like Disney Wars. Really could've had Asoka as the main character or something about her exile following Clone Wars.. but instead we die-hard fans get... Aladdin Jr..?!
