Ahead of tomorrow's long-awaited world premiere, Walt Disney Studios and 20th Century Fox (via Empire Magazine) have released an extremely intense extended Venice Film Festival sneak peek for James Gray's mysterious upcoming sci-fi space epic, Ad Astra.

While plot details remain murky at best, the film will see astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) traverse the solar system in search of his long lost father (Tommy Lee Jones) while simultaneously unraveling a mystery that threatens the survival of the entire human race.

The film stars Academy Award-winner Brad Pitt (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Tommy Lee Jones (Men in Black), Ruth Negga (Preacher), Liv Tyler (The Incredible Hulk), Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games), Jamie Kennedy (Scream), John Finn (The Walking Dead), Kimberly Elise (Death Wish), Bobby Nish (ER), LisaGay Hamilton (Vice), and John Ortiz (Bumblebee).
