AEON FLUX Live-Action Series From THE WALKING DEAD And TEEN WOLF Producers Coming To MTV

MTV is planning to reboot its classic animated series Aeon Flux, only this time it'll be a live-action interpretation from Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis and The Walking Dead's Gale Anne Hurd...

If you're of a certain age and used to watch MTV back when it was worth a damn, chances are you'll remember cult sci-fi animated series Aeon Flux (usually stylised Æon Flux).

The early '90s show was set in the year 7698 in a world struggling to survive after an environmental collapse, and focused on a female assassin from the nation of Monica, who joins forces with a group of young rebels to save the human race.

The property was previously adapted for the big screen in 2005 with Charlize Theron in the lead role, but it turned out to be a notorious turkey. However, MTV will now be giving the character another shot in live-action form.

According to THR, Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis will write the pilot script and executive produce the show along with The Walking Dead‘s Gale Anne Hurd.

Now, if we could just get a reboot of The Maxx all will be right with the world.

@Pathogen @RorMachine @MarkCassidy - The Maxx was a cartoon on MTV's liquid tv that ran with Aeon Flux. It was based off an autobiography of my life that I co-wrote with a guy named Sam Kieth.

*You guys are gonna have to let me enjoy this one, I been on this website for years and this is the first Maxx mention in almost a decade ;)

Gale Ann Hurd is a legend, way more than just a Walking dead Producer. Granted she has worked on some stinkers but she has also produced some classics.

@aflynn - I'm pretty sure she (and Cameron) was the one who created the Terminator character.

Some gifs from this very weird and incredible animated series. Probably zero percent chance that the live action series approaches anything this awesome just like the film.

@Comicbookart - Back when effort and skill went into making a incredible looking animated series.

Huh, and I just recently saw the easily forgettable movie, here's hoping this makes up for it. In the meantime, I have to check out the animated series.

I swear nobody creates anything original anymore... it’s either a reboot, reimagining, or changing cartooons to live action crap...

I honestly thought Aeon Flux was just a movie Hollywood came up with, yes I remembered MTV did have an animated show (it had others) but never made the specific connection.

Never connected much with it and Jeff Davis' involvement after how much he messed his own teenage show in the last 2 Seasons when everything was going just fine really put me off in a way I had never felt before. Can't trust him to be professional since that. But if he is going for this then that means no network or cable or web-series platform were curious about his reboot of "Let The Right One In". Maybe they saw what happened to Teen Wolf in those last two stories and decide to skip it, if so he deserves it.

I could watch this but seeing Jeff Davis name, after what he did to his own show... I'll pass.
