More Blood, Swearing, And New Scenes In Red-Band Trailer For ALIEN: COVENANT

Fox has released another version of the Alien: Covenant trailer, and as well as showing off some R-Rated content, it may also reveal the fate of Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw from Prometheus!

It's light on new footage, but the red-band trailer for Alien: Covenant features extra blood, swearing, and some cool new action shots. Perhaps the most intriguing moment is the one you see above as speculation on social media is pointing to that being the remains of Elizabeth Shaw, the Prometheus crew member who set off to learn more about the Xenomorphs with David way back in 2012.

A brief synopsis for the highly anticipated movie was also revealed last year, and it teases: "Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

The cast of Alien: Covenant also includes Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Noomi Rapace, and Guy Pearce, and as you can see below, it will be released on May 19th.

I saw Logan last night. Horrible movie. You shut your eyes during the Alien Covenant trailer, and two hours later a theater usher wakes you up and tells you to go home.

I wanna be excited for this movie, but I feel like the Alien Franchise is going in the direction of Jurassic Park in that its rehashing some of the same stories. Best Alien movie IMO is Aliens because of the action, variety of Aliens and we get to see something different. The other Alien movies have been about one Alien almost destroying an entire crew, Aliens wrecking havoc on Earth or the dreadful Alien Resurrection aka Aliens in Space. I would like to see what might actually happen if the Corporation was finally able to weaponize the Aliens and how they would be used against enemies, or a movie that solely focuses on the Alien and its backstory vs throwing an Alien in a movie with expendable idiots and see who survives.

@BlackHulk - The Aien series has never been set on Earth apart from the opening of Prometheus and Alien vs. Predator which is a spin off and not canon.

@theshark2012 - I was referring to Alien vs. Predator and Alien vs. Predator Requiem. Is your only issue with my soliloquy the semantics of whether those two movies were a spinoff or part of the franchise? If you consider them spinoffs, then they are the only spinoffs from the Alien Franchise but it doesn't take away from the overall point that aside from ALIENS, all of the other Alien movies OR movies that have Aliens in them have pretty much been recycled plot, much like the Jurassic Park movies.

I'm sure this will be a solid, if not amazing, bit of horror for longtime fans and newer converts...

Wasn't the original intention to focus on the Engineers for a few films, then transition to the xenomorphs? Has that been nixed due to the mixed reception of Prometheus? I hope they at least answer a few of the questions left from that film...

@DAGuess - it was but the first movie was so poorly told and the fans spoke out saying they wanted Aliens, so they are giving the fans what they want.

@BlackHulk - Despite the flaws of the film, I'm still interested in hearing the rest of the planned story, even if they wrap it up in this film. Would have liked to see the Engineer home planet though...

@DAGuess - I was too. Seeing an alien tear through 10+ people before getting blown up or sucked out of an air lock gets boring when repeatedly done.
