Neill Blomkamp On ALIEN 5; Says He's "Not Trying To Undo ALIEN 3 Or ALIEN RESURRECTION"
While promoting his newest film Chappie, Neill Blomkamp reveals that he's not trying to discard Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection, but he wants his film to connect to Alien and Aliens (the first two films).
While talking with AlloCine, Neill Blomkamp - Who will be directing the fifth Alien film- reveals that he doesn't want to make Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection not relevant to his new film, but he wants to make his film connect to the first two, "I'm not trying to undo Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection." He then continues, "My favourites are the first two movies. I want to make a film that's connected to Alien and Aliens. That's my goal". With that said, Neill will have to work with Ripley, Hicks, and the remains of her team flying into space after defeating the Queen Alien, instead of their devastating deaths a few minutes into the third installment. Where will he go from there? Will his film be a prequel to Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection? Only Neill Blomkamp knows as of now. What do you think? Sound off below with your thoughts!
The Alien film franchise (known as Aliens in most media) is a science fiction horror film series consisting of four installments, focusing on Lieutenant Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and her battles with an extraterrestrial lifeform, commonly referred to as "the Alien". Produced by 20th Century Fox, the series started with Alien (1979), which led to three film sequels, as well as numerous books, comics and video game spin-offs.
