A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other -- and to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is now available on Blu-Ray & DVD!

It still absolutely blows my mind that this movie was anything other than a trainwreck, let alone as damned good as it was. This and X-Men: FC were really very pleasant surprises this summer.

Oh, and this clip should pretty much tell all the detractors how much of that performance really was Serkis. No more of this "the animators did most of it" crap.

If they don't give Andy Serkis at least an Oscar nomination for this then i'm banning the Academy awards from my list of award shows to watch. I almost did a few years ago when they gave that frickin no talent hip hop rap band the award for song of the year. And gee, where are they now? Haven't heard a thing from them. At least give Serkis a nomination, he more than deserves it since being robbed of it from The Two Towers.

This was one of the best movies I saw last Summer. Watching Andy Serkis play Caesar was unbelievable in the video capture. I always thought they CGI his face on a animation but damn he acted out the whole scene. I can't wait for the DVD release. I'll tell you one thing is I'm for DNA research but it does make you think after seeing this movie. :)
