AVATAR 2 Will Resume Filming In New Zealand Next Week; Awesome New Behind The Scenes Photo Released

It's been confirmed that filming on Avatar 2 will resume in New Zealand as soon as next week, and that news comes alongside a must-see behind the scenes photo teasing the sequel's underwater setting...

New Zealand has pretty much stamped out COVID-19, so productions such as Avatar 2 and The Lord of the Rings are able to safely resume shooting in the coming weeks. In the case of the former, the crew will be getting back to work in the coming days, and producer Jon Landau has now shared a very intriguing behind the scenes photo.

As you can see, a command vessel and "jetboat" are shown here, both of which will presumably be used by the movie's humans in a sequel believed to be set primarily underwater.

Production on Avatar 2 wasn't really delayed too much, so chances are it will still arrive in theaters next December as planned. That's good news, as it's already been eleven years since we saw the first instalment, so it's hard to say whether these planned follow-ups will be able to recapture the same level of success as James Cameron's original.

So according to this image, the humans attack the blue people again...(but on water).
Didn't James Cameron say this will be about blue people colonies, guess we are back to the Pocahantis story.

I don't hate Avatar, but it definitely isn't on par with Cameron's best work like T2 or Aliens. Hope this is more of a return to form, considering how incredible the other sequels in his resume are.

I know a lot of people don't really care about a sequel, but once the first teaser will come, the hype will be real!

I believe in Cameron to make something incredible!
