Avatar: The Way of Water is very nearly here, and thanks to Total Film, we have another new look at the breathtaking world of Pandora.

Say what you will about Avatar's plot, but those 3D visuals looked insane in 2009, so we can only begin to imagine how much the upcoming sequel will push the boundaries of technology.

We're sure the publication will reveal new details about the movie in the coming days, but don't expect anything too huge as Disney and 20th Century Studios are clearly looking to keep The Way of Water's biggest surprises under wraps. That's not a bad thing, though, and should only serve to make the experience of sitting down to watch it in theaters even more special.

Disney has also released a handful of new stills from the Avatar follow-up, and you can check those out below along with both of Total Film's covers teasing this long-awaited return to Pandora.

With Avatar: The Way of Water, the cinematic experience reaches new heights as Cameron transports audiences back to the magnificent world of Pandora in a spectacular and stirring action-packed adventure.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, the sequel begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive,  and the tragedies they endure.

Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment Production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet. The screenplay was penned James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver based on a story by Cameron, Jaffa, Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno.

Avatar: The Way of Water splashes down in theaters worldwide on December 16.

The reads like an opinion to me.

Take that out and you can properly label the article "news:

@TheSuperMex - You mean my hobby that I haven’t posted on for two years? That one?

Funny how all you do here is try to troll people. Is your life that uninteresting? Now I will wait until you inevitably try to play the race card yet again.

Never count James Cameron out, especially when he’s making a sequel, but this film is about a decade too late at this point…

I would be cool if James Cameron would get Arnold Schwarzenegger in one of the sequels.

@TheSuperMex - I honestly thought that a reunion between the two was what they were working towards. Cameron always gets the best work from Schwarzenegger and Arnold would have been a very capable replacement for Stephen Lang's Quarritch character.

Had to make sure my wife was next to me when I looked because it took my breath away. Very dangerous.
