AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER Character Posters Include A First Look At Stephen Lang's Na'vi Villain

The excitement for Avatar: The Way of Water is increasing, and following last night's trailer release, we now have some character posters that put the spotlight on the movie's leads. Check them out...

With tickets for the movie now on sale and an awesome new trailer available to watch, "Avatar Day" is in full swing as we gear up for next month's Avatar: The Way of Water

Various events celebrating the movie have been happening worldwide, including in Venice, Sydney, and New York City's Times Square. It's also been confirmed that the sequel's world premiere will take place in London on December 6.

Fans should also be on the lookout for a new Snapchat filter that turns users into a Na'vi in real-time, transforming their mouth, eyes, head shape, hair and skin - complete with blue-striped texture - as if they came straight from Pandora. Amazon Alexa is also bringing the sights and sounds of Pandora to their Echo devices.

For that, you simply have to say, "Alexa, enable 'Avatar' theme" to get Avatar visuals and sounds whenever you set timers and alarms, ask for the weather, say hello and more.

Oh, and in some news which we're sure you'll all welcome, the original 2009 Avatar is once again available to stream on Disney+ after being removed at the end of the summer (which was, coincidentally, right in time for the blockbuster's big screen re-release). We don't currently know whether that's the remastered version, but would have to assume it is.

To cap all these latest announcements off, we also have some brand new character posters for Avatar: The Way of Water that offer a first look at Stephen Lang's return as Miles Quaritch. We also have some exclusive IMAX and Dolby posters for the highly anticipated sequel.

With Avatar: The Way of Water, the franchise reaches new heights as Cameron transports audiences back to the magnificent world of Pandora in a spectacular and stirring action-packed adventure.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, the sequel begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive,  and the tragedies they endure.

Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment Production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet. The screenplay was penned James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver based on a story by Cameron, Jaffa, Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno.

Avatar: The Way of Water splashes down in theaters worldwide on December 16.

One thing is for sure on this production. Cameron spent ALL of Fox's/Disney's money! And we still got number 3 coming.

Is that Na’vi with the Tā Moko the one played by Cliff Curtis?

Also, which one is Quatrich? 😅

The first one was a cinematic experience, I’m so pumped for this! One of the novelty cinemas here just installed a 4K laser projector, so I’m going to have to slog all the way there to watch it. (We don’t have an IMAX screen here)

I was so excited for this... A decade ago

I'm just not excited at all. I haven't seen any promotion and it comes out next month? Why?

Like my Twitter feed is all comics and stuff like this and I've seen NO ONE talk about it.

No one cares really... And that's sad 😢

lol, Steven Lang's character becomes a N'avi too? Didn't he hate them and despise the main character for wanting to be with them?

That's like a redneck bigot becoming trans to infiltrate a trans community.
[frick], where's THAT movie? I'd pay to see that before this.

@ObserverIO - say you're a programmed moron without saying you're a programmed moron.

Hownis this about anything trans? Just because they take up less than 2% of the population doesn't mean you have to put them in a 100% of media just to appease them....

@JackRussoff3 - So don't buy a ticket! But when you see the stupendous record-breaking box office on my amazing trans redneck movie, don't come asking me to buy you a ticket.

@ObserverIO - I'll be the first to buy a ticket if you pull it off

@JackRussoff3 - lol, right? I mean who doesn't want to see Stephen Lang in a dress?

...Okay, you're right. I'm officially abandoning the idea.

They really figured out a weird way to bring his character back instead of just creating a new, good, intimidating villain for the next two films?? Shocking

How in the hell is Stephen Lang's character coming back?! Obviously I have to see the movie first, but that sounds like bullsh*t. (Not in that I don't believe, just in that it doesn't make sense, for him especially.)
