From Collider.com. James Cameron’s update on Battle Angel project:

I’m obviously going to be pretty busy for the next five years and so I had to consider, do I hand this project off to another director? And then I thought, ‘No, I love it too much.’”


It’s such a rich world. What I’m going to do is take the spine story and use elements from the first four books. So, the Motorball from books three and four, and parts of the story of one and two will all be in the movie.



LEEE777 - I personally think Battle Angel Alita couldn't be in better hands to make an amazing sci-fi spectacular. Oh yeah James cough cough, Ellen Page.

I really hope Cameron actually DOES concider screen testing Ellen Page for it! Plus, she never ages so five years isn't too much for her to wait :))

No offense Grif but it's kind of hard to take what you say serious when you have a picture of Bane from Batman: TAS which is an adaption of the comic book as your profile picture.

I feel that this is a trend right now to gripe about reboots, remakes, and adaption. I think people would be surprise how many movies we love are in that category. In fact all comic book movies come from some other source material.

Yeah it's a shame we have to wait so long. Cameron should just hand it over to someone he trusts and oversee it like Nolan is with Superman. I could liver without another Avatar!

ellen page would be great if they did the movie right NOW but by the time cameron finishes milking avatar ellen will be in her late twenties or her 30's not exactly the ideal age IMO. Saoirse Ronan wouldn't be a bad pick either so he should hand it over to some one else and he can go and do his [frick]ing avatar 2.
