Box Office Mojo reports that Men in Black 3 added an impressive $78.6M this weekend to bring its international gross to $274.6M. After earning another $29.3M domestically ($112.3M in total) the worldwide total for the threequel currently sits at $386.9M. Snow White and the Huntsman has debuted to an estimated $39.3M in 45 markets and $56.255M domestically. That makes a total of $95.555M; a good start for the darker take on the well-known fairy tale. It has yet to open in Australia, France, Italy, Japan and Russia. Meanwhile, Prometheus held off stiff competition from both of these films, opening up at #1 in 14 of the 15 countries it was released in for an estimated weekend gross of $35M. After we reported its strong opening in the UK yesterday, it has now been confirmed that it had an overall debut of $9.99M. Finally, Marvel's The Avengers added £12.4M to its current overseas gross and has now become only the fifth movie ever to earn more than $800 million overseas. It also has the #3 spot on the list of all-time highest grossing movies and should pass $1.4 billion before opening in Japan this August. Domestically, the superhero ensemble made $20.3M domestically (taking its total to $552.7M).

It's a shame the avengers couldn't take the #1 spot. Still the movie was amazing, and it made much more than marvel studios ever excpected. Kevin Feige (however you spell it) said in an interview he was just hoping it exceeded Iron Man II's opening weekend. :D

I can't wait for the avengers II.

@Thewonderer

Totally agree with you man

Whenever I see people on this sight goin nuts over the Avengers not being # 1 it makes me wanna gouge out my own eyes. Its stupid.

The general audience has already seen the Avengers; they've moved on. I guess some CBM fans wont

I've got a friend over in Japan that's going nuts to see The Avengers still :D

I really wanted to see the midnight show of Prometheus, but I've been home dying of allergies and asthma for like three weeks now. Missing my movies and exercise dammit!!

I'd like to catch MiB III, I think I'm the only person that liked both 1 and 2 equally.

The only way The Avengers will pass Titanic for the #2 spot,is if they re-release it at the theatres next year before Iron Man 3 comes out.Avatar & Titanic were both re-released in theatres,which helped them make even more money.So I think that's what Marvel should do for The Avengers,and it will get people hyped up even more for Iron Man 3 & Thor 2.I know I was hyped after watching it,because I said to myself...I want another Hulk movie now!!!

In 10 years time when the avengers is rereleased I can't see it making much money.....as good as it is its just not going to be a future classic.

@ thewonderer

you've seen the avengers five times in 31 days of release,maybe thats why you're sick of it,you've watched it too much.

i've seen it once at the cinema & once on download probably won't watch it again until the blu-ray release.

Classics: Indiana Jones,alien/aliens, t1/t2,star wars originals,2001,lotr, the matrix just because the avengers made big $$$ doesn't make it a classic all them movies I named have something unique about them.
