Charlie Day And Ron Perlman Discuss 'PACIFIC RIM' And Guillermo del Toro

Actor Charlie Day And Ron Perlman discuss "Pacific Rim" and working with director Guillermo del Toro. There's definitely been a concerted effort to increase awareness for the film but do you know feel it's suffering from overexposure?

There's also a new report from Variety, which highlights the film's increased marketing efforts over the last week in the wake of reports which stipulated that "Pacific Rim" was headed for a low, opening weekend domestic box office gross. If you've visited CBM daily, you'll know exactly what the trade is referring to, however, do you feel the efforts to increase more awareness were warranted or has the film now been overexposed?

"When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse."

Since we're all neglecting the article for rappers, I gotta give it to the greater half of Heltah Skeltah, Sean Price.
"I said forever P flaunt shit, hand full of stones; The Infinity Gauntlet"

Speaking on the article, I dont know why this isnt pulling me into the theaters. I cant wait to see it... but I highly doubt I'll hit the theaters. I wonder if my disliking for mechas is really strong enough to override the monster awesomeness...

I just watched Pacific Rim last night in the movie theater of the military base out here in Lemoore, California (I also saw Captain America about a week or two early and let CBM that the Avengers trailer was after the credits :) ). But anyway, this film is awesome!

I'm not so good at reviews but let me know if you want one, I'll do my best but I can summarize right now that this is one of the biggest surprises of the summer! That is all.

@MexicanSuperman what the hell are you talking about? Rap is Poetry over a beat. Kanye is one the best that does it. UGK and Bone Thugz (as a group) are nowhere near as good as Kanye. 2pac yes. Tech Nyne that's debatable.

EyeGore
EyeGore - 7/7/2013, 1:21 PM
The movie isn't being overexposed, but it is being VERY badly marketed. I have no doubt that del Toro has made an imaginative action epic with a lot of emotion and humor.

But you'd never know it from the TV commercials. According to every ad I've seen on TV, this is a movie about giant robots punching giant monsters while Idris Elba screams at them. It's no wonder the film is tracking poorly.

who cares about kanye west. rap/pop is crap. rap in movies is especially annoying and makes the action scenes look soo cheesy. rap music is like watching batman and robin on a never ending loop.

I'd be shocked if Pacific Rim gets beat by Grown Ups 2 but than again you never know. I'm really looking forward to this though.
