DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Takes FAST & FURIOUS 7's Release Date

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Takes FAST & FURIOUS 7's Release Date

The tragic death of Paul Walker has meant that the seventh instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise has been delayed until a decision can be made how best to finish the film. Perhaps then that's why Fox have now moved Dawn of the Planet of the Apes's release date into that slot!

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth¹s dominant species.

This is a smart move by Fox, as Fast & Furious 7 would have taken a huge chunk of this sequel's box office away even during its second week of release. Directed by Matt Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. The movie is set for release on Memorial Day weekend, July 18th, 2014 on July 11th, 2014. Are you guys excited?

I call my ex "The Succubus". She'll shag your brains out, but she'll run off with your soul when she's done with you.

Picked up ff6 today, going to be sad watching it with Paul Walker and all..Hope they end up releasing the seventh one, actually i'm positive they will, I'm sure Paul Walker would have wanted it, I just hope they don't scrap a lot of it like they said they would, that just seems...wasteful.

On another note, Planet of the Apes should be awesome.

@fettastic I think you meant 6 not 7 and yes I would agree with you some of the action scenes were just unbelievable (not in a good way) but 4 and 5 were pure awesomeness.

That's a tough decision to have to make especially if they only finished half of the movie before he died. I was really looking forward to F7 (can't believe I'm typing that). Fast and the Furious is a unique bird. I can't think of any franchises that have pulled a 180 like this one did. It manages to get bigger and better with each successive film.

It wasn't the tweet that was tasteless. FOX, the vultures, didn't hold off very long before going for that spot.

Fast 6 was such a letdown. Hopefully, Dawn is just as great as Rises.

Rise was a sleeper hit. I remember going to see it with average expectatiins and I left thinking, "That was damned near perfection".

I love the concept of Planet of the Apes but the continuity's more [frick]ed than X-Men and it's all Tim Burtons fault.

Fast 7 will probably be pushed back to 2015.

Watched Fast 6 just a few days ago, and it really wasn't as good as 5. The plane sequence at the end was ridiculous, and in a way that ceased to be funny after the first few miles of runway.

But I really like the Fast family that grew over the movies, and damn, it will be weird and sad seeing them without Paul Walker! :'(

Finally the movie confirmed that I have no idea why we have Gadot as our Wonder Woman...

@ Nove

Rise was meant to be a reboot. Tim Burton's film has nothing to do with it.

I don't care for that tweet... Pretty tasteless. I just watched F&F6 like 20 mins. ago. I really enjoyed it under the circumstances.

It was weird and sad watching it knowing Paul Walker died... I'm not sure how they will handle F&F7...

I could care less about the Rise Of The Apes sequel. The first one had James Franco and Frieda Pinto. They aren't returning, so I'll pass.

@yoss@Gusto What?!? You guys are missing out! Action, fast cars, and hot girls. You can't go wrong.

I would probably skip Tokyo Drift. I consider that one the worst in the series.
