I'm getting pretty stoked for this. Oscar Isaac looking like he could stomp my face off in that one. Acting, lol

Such a great series of novels. I wonder how many movies they plan to do so it gets its proper justice.

I don't know about this. A lot of the cast are amazing, and it looks like it's going to be faithful to a fault, but Dune is so much of a tough sell. And the Brown-on-Gray aesthetic may not help.

While certainly not perfect, I always loved how deeply vibrant and colorful the design of the Sci-Fi Miniseries was. It was striking, even if it did look a bit cheap.

They used florescent contacts and shined UV lights into actors' faces to get that eerie iridescent blue effect, and it works. It sells the unearthly nature of spice so goddamn well. And then I see these pictures with just a hint of blue saturation and... it's underwhelming to me.

I guess I'm just not getting the weirdness I would want from these pictures. It feels industrial and desaturated all over. (Obviously there's room for post-processing, as these are mostly set photos.)

@Spock0Clock - I'm with you. Everything about the Sci-fi series had an otherworldly look and feel to it. Not a fan of the fight over spice happening in what appears to be [frick]ing Afghanistan.

@Spock0Clock - Agree with you on the color - it 'looked' fascinating, but the acting of some of the cast was painfully weak. P. H. Moriarty as Gurney Halleck? Unbelievable.

@Spock0Clock - That was my first exposure to Dune and I still like the look of it as well. Also Sci fi wouldn't have been able to make BSG several years later if Dune hadn't been successful.

@Spock0Clock - I think it's important to take in to account that we haven't seen what the movie looks like with post production touch ups. We can't judge it yet.

@Spock0Clock - loved the soundtrack to Children of Dune by Brian Tyler. Also, some early work from James McAvoy.
