Yesterday, Warner Bros. Pictures have announced that they will be continuing their relationship with IMAX, and that they will be releasing up to 20 films in the theatrical format. These titles include Man Of Steel, Pacific Rim, and the other two films of The Hobbit trilogy. Now, the official IMAX blog has posted a list of upcoming WB films which will not only be released in IMAX, but also be converted to 3D. Several of these we already knew would be released in the 3D format, such as Jack The Giant Slayer and the aforementioned Pacific Rim and Man Of Steel. But, we now have confirmation on the following films being post-converted to 3D:

- All You Need Is Kill, which adapts the Japanese graphic novel of the same name. The film, directed by The Bourne Identity's Doug Liman, stars Tom Cruise as a soldier in a war against aliens who is stuck in a time loop, reliving his death on the battle field over and over again. Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton also star. All You Need Is Kill, which is currently in production, is set to hit theaters March 7th, 2014.

- Tarzan, which is a new take on the legendary King of the Jungle. Recently, David Yates (Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows) was confirmed to direct the film as his next project, and this week we learned that his top choice to play the title character is Alexander Skarsgard. Samuel L. Jackson is also being eyed for a supporting role. The story follows John Clayton III (Skarsgard), who is known around the world as the famous "ape man" Tarzan. Years after he's re-assimilated into society, he's asked by Queen Victoria to investigate the goings-on in the Congo. Tarzan teams with an ex-mercenary named George Washington Williams (Jackson) to save the Congo from a fierce warlord who controls a massive diamond mine. The film currently has no release date.

- 300: Rise Of An Empire, which is a follow-up to the 2007 Frank Miller adaptation. According to Rodrigo Santoro, who reprises his role as Xerxes from the first film, says that "It's a film that takes place at about the same time of the battle that goes on in the first film." Eva Green and Sullivan Stapleton also star in the Noam Murro-directed movie, which is currently filming. 300: Rise Of An Empire is set to hit theaters August 2nd, 2013.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity, The Wachowskis' Jupiter Ascending, and George Miller's Fury Road will also be converted to 3D. For the full list, click the source link below.

That Tarzan movie sounds like it's gonna be legendary! Don't know about that lead actor suggestion though, Yates..

Hugh Jackman would be cool older and civilized Tarzan. He sports the long hair pretty ok. Plus he has build and acting skill for the role.

I used to hate 3D conversions. But with new technologies being developed in the process, the conversions are looking better, more 3D-ish than the two-camera system.
With the 2 camera system, it looks 3D, but TOO natural. There's not as many depth planes before it gets flat, usually around the 300 foot mark.
With conversion, there is an exaggerated depth, which looks cooler and more fantastical. With the flat plane say, off about half a mile. Sometimes we've even seen the moon in depth, which with our normal eyes is impossible.
But conversion is only as good as how lazy or ambitious the person doing the computer conversion for the shot is and/or how much money the studio is willing to put into the time and effort it takes to do it.
