It was cancelled? Thought it was a good premise. Like a modern take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World.

I just don't get why they went back to the times of dinosaurs. I mean, there was this whole mass extinction thing.

They didn't have a choice; the wormhole or whatever it was deposited them to that time period. It wasn't as though they could program where it would drop them off.

But still they weren't giving themselves any chance. Just delaying the inevitable. Mass extinction is what awaited them in either time period.

Although the word was that had the show gone on, it would have shown them coming up with a means of survival of what was coming. Nothing concrete was ever laid out for the audience, but there supposedly was a plan.

It was terrible - About 20 Years out of date. I felt let down by this show. The writers should have read 2000AD's Flesh where in the future climate change has destroyed the earth's ability to be self sufficient - A corporation goes back in time to harvest dinosaurs for meat. It is a full-on dino extravagannza full of blood thirsty dino battles and the corporation politics in the background. No offence to Braga but it was too episodic - almost like Star Trek TNG. But times have changed. My advice to Brannon is to go watch Game of Thrones or True Blood and then try again.

It was an alternate time line from the one that we all know, it wasn't going back in time it was an alternate universe. They explain that very clearly I think in the first or second episode, I loved this show and it's a shame too because Jason O'Mara was in Life On Mars which was great and got cancelled and now this one. I would really like to see something work for him.

Ilove science fiction shows but battle star galactica raised the bar for all of them in my opinion even so this show was shit regardless.

-Every actor and actress aside from Lang looked like a Calvin Klien model

-The stories were extremely predictable flat and boring (how do you pull that off when you're telling a story involving [frick]ING DINOSAURS)

-i get that the sixers were some "badass" rebels but did they really have to dress them up like a bunch of Turok dinosaur hunters WTF. I mean come on!!!!

-The stories inevitably boiled down to a bunch of cheesy family disney channelish dramas which wasacomplete slap in the face to any true sci fi buff. the dialog became soooooo corny and cheese ridden

-I COMPLETELY HATED HATED THE DAD AND THE MOM AND THAT WEASLY CALVNKLIEN MODEL LOOKING SON. The characters were just so unlikable aside from Lang.

Lang and the dinosaurs were the only thing this show had going for it. Im just amazed. How the [frick] could producers mess up a show about people from the future living with dinosaurs?????? Its like they went out of their way to [frick] this up.

In the immortal words of Grif: Shit Show

yeah i watched the first four or so episodes & relized that i'd probably had seen every possible plot for that show.

did they ever explain the time paradox problem,you know the obvious one's.

-human's & dinosaurs living together
-what are they gonna do when the earth killer hits & wipes out the dinosaurs & them.
-having electricity millions of years before man has even discovered fire.

I quite enjoyed it. The CGI in the fishing scene was atrocious though...

Yep, alternate timeline, so who's to say that there ever WAS an extinction? Anyway, I enjoyed this show for what it was. Still loads better than most garbage on TV these days. Would've liked to see where they took it with the new wave of people coming in and what happened when the "Sixers" got their hands on the return portal technology!

I loved this show. could have done without the love/family subplots though. they should continue it as a internet series.

This is a great show! It reminds me of the 09s sci-fi TV shows, and it's not a bad thing. Coz nowadays sci-fi shows are more of a showcase of technology and whatnot. Not so much mystery is involved. Terro Nova has that kind of mystery-feelling in it and it's pretty cool.

Braga who helmed Voyager and Enterprise literally drove Trek into the ground. His ideas and writing has became so stale and predictable that I wasn't surprise Nova flop. Along with Berman, these 2 has to be the most hated individuals in all of Trek.

Watched every episode of this show hoping it would get better. The first episode was cool, everything that followed seemed to follow a by-the-numbers template for what a "new sci-fi show" should have. The inevitable confrontation with the sixers where their camp gets taken over and then they take it back was the biggest example of this. Been done the exact same way on Deep Space Nine, Voyager, SeaQuest DSV (yup I went there), Battlestar Galactica, Star Gate Atlantis, etc etc.

@MGS

I wasn't gonna touch on that, but you're absolutely right. The worst years of Trek can lay right there at those little feet. And when Manny Coto actually turned Enterprise into an entertaining show (too late mind you), rather then let him finish the show, Berman and Braga marched in and wrote the worst episode of any Trek show ever (and I swear it was amiddle finger to all of us).

@Beane

The late Michael Piller who's credited for jump starting TNG and help create Voyager ... even he knew when it was time to bow out when his ideas started to stagnate and be predictable. Not with Braga. The biggest culprit was his enabler Rick Berman. How he chose Braga and his lambasted handling on Voyager over Ira Steven Behr who whelmed the critically acclaimed DS9 or Ron Moore.. who would go on to create BSG to help oversee the Trek franchise... it just boggles the mind.

In Nova,you see all of his trademark predictability. He really hasn't change. He's still the same stale hack he was when he left the Trek franchise.

i really think that if a show made for a big budget like this is going to be made than it should either be put on fx or hbo because they give there series movie like budgets, if this was on hbo it wouldnt have looked so corny and dated like a bad syfy movie like sharktopus or something

Damn, I really liked this show and just hearing about what could have been Season 2 just gets me depressed. So much potential, and one of the best new characters on any TV show (Taylor) thrown away :(

The show wasn't bad, although I would have liked to see a little more than the 20 or 30 seconds of dinosaur "money shots" per episode.
The last show featuring the Bermuda Triangle-type graveyard of ships and artifacts from every era of history turned me off and I knew then where the show was heading. Similar to the British series "Primevil", but in reverse. Instead of dinosaurs going through wormholes into our time, Vikings and Romans and WWII soldiers would end up fighting in the Jurassic era like the fantasy game Heroscape. So maybe it's a blessing it ended when it did.
All episodes can still be seen on Netflix.

i just hav to say, i enjoyed watching this show from 1st - last episode, a few pointers to make to others comments, yes this did take ideas from other sci-fi programmes, but from 1 idea comes another, and so on, they also made reference in the very 1st episode that it was an alternate timeline they were sent to, which does open the possibility dinosaurs having never been extinct, and the fact that man, being able to create electricity, has travelled to point in time of where there was no discovery of fire yet, still deosnt prevent that man from being able to create electricity still, just requires the necessary equipment, and as far as the "bermuda triangle" type graveyard of ships found, the last episode shows 1 prow of a ship, doesnt say anything else other than theres a 2nd rift thats open, i wana see atleast a 2nd season of this show before i can truely pass judgement on it XD
