According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox are closing a deal to acquire the film rights for Theory Of Everything, a sci-fi action thriller which was previously published as a one-off comic book by Top Cow. Dan Casey, who created the idea with Nick Nantell and then wrote the comic to flesh out the concept, will pen the screenplay, while Nantell will serve as co-producer. The film will also be produced by Dan Jinks (American Beauty), with Top Cow's Matt Hawkins and Marc Silvestri signed on as executive producers. Theory Of Everything follows a disgraced scientist as he seeks to rescue his wife from a parallel dimension — a woman who was previously assumed dead. Deadline describe the story as "grounded in string theory and quantum physics. Stay tuned to CBM for more details on this project.

I HAVE actually read this comic and though that it was the best book Top Cow put out for that particular pilot season. I was VERY upset when it didn't get picked up for an on-going monthly, but it will make a good movie. And with only one comic to work from, they wont have to worry too much about sticking to established continuities, etc, and can really feel free to let their creative juices flow.

But then again, it IS fox...

Anyone else think this sounds like the TV show "Fringe". Disgraced scientist goes into a paralel dimension to rescue a family memeber he thought was dead. Sounds like a rip off of Fringe to me.
