"After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot."

Jackman joins Sigourney Weaver, Ninja and Yolandi Visser of Die Antwoord, Dev Patel and Sharlto Copley who will play Chappie via motion capture. Chappie is a partnership between Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital, and is based on Blomkamp's short film Tetra Vaal, which you can see below. The film is currently slated for release on March 27th, 2015.

Elysium was my second biggest let down this year behind MOS (yeah I said it) I loved district 9 and expected another unique film with amazing action...what we got was a fairly trite plot and more $&cking shaky cam. Chappie better be pretty [frick]ing amazing or Blomkamp is off my radar.
