John Lithgow Added To The Cast Of Christopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR
Another addition to the impressive cast of The Dark Knight Trilogy director Christopher Nolan's upcoming Interstellar has been made, with John Lithgow (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes) signing on for an unknown role in the sci-fi epic.
Yesterday, the cast of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar expanded with the inclusions of Timothee Chalamet (Homeland), Mackenzie Foy (Twilight) and Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist). Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Casey Affleck and Michael Caine headline the highly anticipated sci-fi epic. Now, according to The Wrap, John Lithgow has landed a role in the film. Previously seen in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, the Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor also appeared in comedies This Is 40 and The Campaign. As expected, his role in Interstellar is being kept under wraps.
With a script written by Jonathan Nolan (and later rewritten by Chris to merge his own original idea), Interstellar follows a heroic group of explorers who travel through a wormhole and into another dimension. The ideas are based on the work of physicist Kip Thorne, who's also an executive producer. With filming expected to begin later this year, the Warner Bros./Paramount Pictures co-production is slated for a November 7th, 2014 theatrical release and will be shot in IMAX.
