GODZILLA VS. KONG Casts ATLANTA Star Brian Tyree Henry In A Significant Role
Fresh off an Emmy nomination for Atlanta season two and an upcoming role in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Brian Tyree Henry has been cast in a significant role in Legendary's Godzilla vs. Kong.
Variety is reporting that 2x Primetime Emmy-nominee Brian Tyree Henry has been cast in a leading role in Legendary's Godzilla vs. Kong. Further details were unavailable, but the report does describe his part as significant.
He joins a cast that features Kyle Chandler (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Millie Bobby Brown (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Danai Gurira (Avengers: Infinity War), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), and Ziyi Zhang (Godzilla: King of the Monsters). Adam Wingard (The Guest) is directing the fourth installment in the MonsterVerse, which is due out in theaters on May 22, 2020; debuting worldwide almost exactly a year after Michael Dougherty's Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits screens on May 31, 2019.
Plot details remain under lock-and-key on Skull Island for now, but based on the context clues, it's probably safe to say the story will revolve around the two titular monsters throwing down in some fashion.
Henry is best known for his role as Paper Boi on the critically acclaimed FX series Atlanta and his more recent credits include, but are not limited to, Boardwalk Empire, This Is Us, Vice Principals, Hotel Artemis, White Boy Rick, Widows, and If Beale Street Could Talk. He can be heard next in Sony's highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where he voices Jefferson Davis, and also has The Woman in the Window, Superintelligence, and Child's Play on the docket for next year.
