It looks like Adam Wingard is going to be kept very busy over the next couple of years!

We recently learned that the Godzilla Vs. Kong director was working on an animated ThunderCats movie for Warner Bros. as well as a sequel to The Guest, a Face-Off reboot/sequel and Son of Kong(?), and THR is now reporting that the filmmaker has also signed on to helm an adaptation of Robert Kirkman's (The Walking Dead) Image Comics sci-fi series, Hardcore, for Universal Pictures.

Kirkman penned the story outline and Wingard will co-write the screenplay along with Sleepy Hollow and Internal Affairs scribe Will Simon.

The comic focuses on Agent Drake of the Hardcore Program, who is able to take over the body of anyone on Earth and turn them into a human drone to get to targets that normal soldiers can’t. Drake is the best soldier Hardcore has to offer, but when he gets stranded in a body with only 72 hours to discover who’s hijacked the Program, he’ll have to pull out all the stops against an enemy who could be literally anyone."

Skybound and Wingard’s Montauk Chair will produce the movie with Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst exec producing.
