Cool, but why can't we get free 4K upgrades if we bought a bunch of movies digitally?

@Toecutter - Don’t most digital marketplaces do that? I know iTunes automatically upgrades you to 4K if you’ve bought it on their platform specifically

@Toecutter - I think if you buy a movie digitally on iTunes once the 4K upgrade is available it update. But it doesn’t work for digital copies that were bought as regular HD

I wonder if this release will fix that awful too-dark picture on the existing blu-ray.

I know the 2014 movie has become sort of divisive online, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

I'm hoping for the best with Godzilla Vs. Kong, but based on the director's filmography, I guess we probably shouldn't get our hopes up too much.

@Feralwookiee

Have you seen The Guest or You’re Next? Dudes talented. Hasn’t had a win in a minute but those movies are a couple of flicks.

I just found this on Twitter, and it really drove home for me how much the bungled the original blu-ray in terms of video quality.

Brightened edit: http://pbs.twimg.com/media/EVMBl8zXkAAHQKl?format=jpg&name=medium

Hopefully the 4K fixes that.

Watching this film on an IMAX screen (one of the three largest in the U.S. at the time), in 3D, was one of the three best cinematic experiences of my life.

I sat as close to the screen as I could without it having a negative affect on the visuals. And since the director did so many of those wonderful 3D POV shots, many of the times when Godzilla would show up, I could look up and it would look like I was really looking up at Godzilla.

It was so f#cking awesome!
