It's been a long wait, but tickets are now officially on sale for Mike Dougherty's highly-anticipated
Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which will make it grand debut in theaters worldwide on May 31st.
According to
Variety, early tracking for the
Godzilla sequel is pointing to a $50 million debut in the United States, which is a far cry from the original's $93.2 million opening in 2014 and
Kong: Skull Island's $61 million launch in 2017, although, based on current anticipation levels, it seems likely the initial projection will get much higher by the time of its end of month release.
The film stars an all-star cast that features Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds, O'Shea Jackson Jr., David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi.
