Following DC Films is proving to be a tough act, but if there's anyone that can do it, it's KONG.

The ancient beast has risen from his lengthy slumber in the supremely awesome first teaser trailer for Jordan Vogt-Roberts' monster epic Kong: Skull Island. It starts out showing us the calm before a gargantuan storm, introducing us to our key players, played by Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John GoodmanSamuel L. Jackson, and several others, before taking us on a whirlwide and destructive ride as the foreign subjects learn someone is not very pleased with their arrival. Check out the trailer below:

Kong: Skull Island reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. What year does this take place in? From the looks of the helicopter I'd say the 70s, but l am not sure if that is when it is or not. I am getting some Vietnam war vibes, but that could just be me.

As for the movie it looks like it should be a good one. So hopefully it will be.

@BlackIceJoe - I can't remember if it was the director or a cast member who said it, but yes, it does take place during the Vietnam War.
