Damon Lindelof has taken his first big solo screenwriting job since concluding the ABC series Lost. Deadline is reporting that he closed a deal to do rewrite work on 20th Century Fox’s Alien prequel, which the studio hopes Ridley Scott will direct as his next assignment.

Studio insiders said that while Lindelof indeed met with Scott and the studio for that rewrite job, the exchange of ideas between them sparked a take that could well turn out to be a free-standing science fiction film. The studio will decide when Lindelof turns it in. Scott Free is producing and Lindelof's CAA reps closed his deal last night.

Lindelof has co-written J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek movie and co-wrote Jon Favreau’s upcoming Cowboys and Aliens,. He was also the solo scripter on Marvel’s Ulimate Hulk Vs. Wolverine comic book over the past few years.

i've always loved the alien franchise over predator,i love the predator movies.
alien slighty more.
when will we see a good aliens vs predator movie.
like shit loads of xenomorphs on one side, shit loads of predators(don't know the proper name of their species) on the otherside.
then let them go at it.

The Aliens crash on an island, get off the island, find out their victims are prime candidates for their offspring... pretty much writes itself lol. :P
