According to Deadline, Matt Reeves has signed up to direct a sequel to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have begun screening his cut of the movie and must be happy with what they see to make this move before the sequel to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes is released. His directing deal is said to be complete, while negotiations are ongoing for him to pen the script alongside Mark Bomback. Apparently, it's "likely that Reeves will go right into the third film, a priority for the studio." Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. It's set for release on Memorial Day weekend, July 18th, 2014.
