Michael Fassbender Confirms Presence Of "Recognizable Creatures" In Prometheus

The X-Men: First Class actor has revealed that "recognizable" creatures will definitely make an appearance in Ridley Scott's upcoming sci-fi thriller, while actress Charlize Theron says that people shouldn't focus on the film's Alien connections...

As a part of Entertainment Weekly's first-look at Ridley Scott's Prometheus, they sat down with actors Michael Fassbender ('David') and Charlize Theron ('Meredith Vickers') to discuss the film's much-speculated connection(s) to Scott's Alien film series. Fassbender confirmed that 'recognizable creatures' will be present in the sci-fi film, and that there's 'definitely a link to Alien' (something that director Scott confirmed a couple weeks ago). Theron, on the other hand, says that people should 'let go' of the idea of Prometheus being an Alien film.

The top-secret project, about a team of scientists whose spaceship (called Prometheus) gets marooned on a distant planet, has been teased as an Alien prequel, and although Scott and his cast won’t confirm that for sure, they certainly aren’t denying it. “There’s definitely a link to Alien,” claims Fassbender before adding, “There’s creatures in it that you’ll recognize.”

But other cast members, like Theron, are playing coy. Says the actress, “I think people should really let go of the idea that it’s an Alien film.”

Prometheus hits theaters June 8th, 2012. The first trailer is expected to be released fairly soon.

That's Logan Marshall-Green, I always think he's Tom Hardy when I see him in Trailers. He was in Devil & Brooklyn's Finest, talented actor...

@PaulRom: Not sure if you noticed, but the woman standing in the middle isn't Charlize Theron. It's Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw.

@Aesir I know, there wasn't a pic with Theron and Fassbender so I decided to use that.

@PaulRom: Right on.
I'm really hoping this film turns out well. Riddley has been on point for the past several films he's done. I hope he can relight his fire again. This would be the perfect vehicle to do so if done successfully.

Zigggggy- What i meant was, Charlize Theron, as she's maturing and ripening into a wonderful looking MILF, is very much so following in the footsteps of Sharon Stone and Michelle Pfeiffer, who've also become very [frick]able MILFs. I'm not saying Charlize was as gorgious ten years ago as Sharon was twenty years ago. Then again, they never were oceans apart in beauty, no matter at what age. We're not exactly comparing Maggie Gyllenhaal to Megan Fox here.

I like how this movie is shaping up but damn that photoshopped EW image is so obvious and off-putting, it's like it came from a MAD Magazine parody.

When he says "creatures you'll recognize," I'm betting he's talking about the space jockey moreso than the xenomorphs.

As others have said, the movie will *feature* the xenomorph aliens, but they probably won't be the focus of the movie. And probably not the only aliens in the movie.
