@JokerEl

Scorsese, Tarantino, Fincher, Paul Thomas Anderson, Roland Emmerich....not really that easily; actually not really that true.

I think he's great and all but best ever? Me thinks you must be naive...

I think Spielberg, Kubrick, tarentino, Scorsese and a long list of directors are better than him IMO. Nolan has only made about a dozen movies or so...

If that...

Oh wow, I didn't even notice you added 'history' at the end of that.

Who's ass did you suck a bong hit out of when you came to that conclusion?

@ElDarkSide

He's directed 9. By no means does that detract from his indisputable talent as a film creator/director, but does any of that work, whether individually or collectively, make him the messiah of filmmaking? Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Wait Wait Wait did you seriously put Roland Emmerich on a list of greatest directors please for the love of God tell me you are joking because your opinion would have to be immediately discarded as wrong. Sorry I don't mind you like Emmerich but to think that he is one of the best directors in Hollywood is beyond wrong that is like thinking Michael Bay is one of the best directors in Hollywood.

Kubrick, Spielberg, Cameron, and Scorsese all have better films than Nolan. Nolan makes films that the viewer wishes they thought of though. He's probably the most original director in the business. And he makes films that force the viewers to think.

The Winter Soldier doesnt compare to TDK. Thats just ridiculous.

TDK is by far the most critically acclaimed CBM.

Glad to see/hear this movie uses practical effects more than most movies nowadays. In-camera-effects is such a neglected art

Carried by Ledgers perfomance? The film is incredible and its considered by most critics as the best CBM ever.

Not only that, but its also considered by the general audience as well. Check the IMDB Top 250 list.

TWS was a lot of fun, but it was just that.

Kubrick is the greatest filmmaker of all time. While not nearly as good, Nolan is the Kubrick of our generation.

Although Spielberg, Scorcese, and Kubrick are superior, I believe that Christopher Nolan is well on his was to join the club as one of the best directors out there. Even his peers, and actors who have worked with him have recognized it publicly.

No doubt TDK is a phenomenal film, and of course Batman is Batman and all that; but Winter Soldier is a superior representation of character. The action sequences are so much better, it has a terrific story between Cap and Bucky as well as the Hydra intrigue, there's no gravely Bale voice.

I'm sorry, The Dark Knight is a great CBM and was the best, but it has to get dethroned eventually and Winter Soldier is not only technically great, but it's also a great watch. It's still relatively new, but as time goes on, people will speak more highly of it.

I am excited to see the one that dethrones Winter Soldier. Wonder Woman, maybe?
